2016 YLAI Fellow presents his pitch to the judges.

WorldDenver is pleased to announce that it will hold a Pitch Competition for the Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI) Professional Fellows. Each Fellow will present his or her business or organizational pitch to a group of prominent judges from the Denver community. The winner from this competition will go on to compete in the finals in Washington D.C. during the Closing Summit of the YLAI Program. A networking reception will follow the competition.

About the YLAI Program: The 12 Fellows from Latin America and the Caribbean arrived in Denver as part of the U.S. Department of State’s YLAI Professional Fellows Program. These business and social entrepreneurs have become part of the Denver community and are “entrepreneurs in residence” at local businesses or social enterprises. They will also learn from their counterparts in the United States, share best practices from their home countries, and develop stronger ties with their Latin American and Caribbean peers. This program empowers entrepreneurs and civil society leaders to strengthen their capacity to launch and advance their entrepreneurial ideas and to effectively contribute to social and economic development in their communities and societies.

The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State funded this program. WorldDenver is proud to work with grantee Meridian International Center, a premier nonprofit, global leadership organization headquartered in Washington, D.C. Meridian is also proud to partner with Atlas Corps and Entrepreneurs' Organization for this program. The ylai.state.gov website includes information about the YLAI Professional Fellows Program.
