WorldDenver offers unique opportunities to engage in citizen diplomacy with participants in the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program and citizen education programs. Please see below for internships and volunteer positions currently available. Please contact Pat@WorldDenver.org to express interest in any of the positions listed below.

Marketing and Event Planning Intern or Volunteer - position filled until Fall 2013

Visitor and Exchange Programs  – Communications Intern (Position Filled until Fall 2013)

The intern will obtain first-hand knowledge of U.S. Government public diplomacy initiatives and objectives, as well as government sponsored educational, cultural and leadership development programs.  Under the direction and supervision of WorldDenver staff, interns will learn the details of communications for an international visitor program, such as writing blogs, taking photos and updating website pages, engaging with the local community, writing press releases, and otherwise advertising the program to the Denver community through a variety of communications.  Interns will be provided with the opportunity to develop and expand communication skills, including professional correspondence, intercultural communications, and advertising. 15-20 hours per week; 3 month commitment required. Visitor and Exchange Programs  – Programming Intern - Summer or Fall 2013

The intern will obtain first-hand knowledge of U.S. Government public diplomacy initiatives and objectives, as well as government sponsored educational, cultural and leadership development programs. Under the direction and supervision of WorldDenver staff, the intern will learn the details of what is involved in arranging an international visitor program, such as research, planning logistics, creating program itineraries and documents, and engaging with the local community. Interns will have the opportunity to attend appointments with international professionals and assist with correspondence and maintenance of program webpages. 15-20 hours per week; 3 month commitment required.  For more information, please click here for an internship description

Visitor and Exchange Programs Volunteer Programmer

Volunteer programmers will be involved in contacting local individuals and organizations to invite them to share their experiences with delegates participating in the State Department-sponsored International Visitor Leadership Program. Volunteers will help identify resources in the community, communicate with them about participating as volunteer resources, and plan a delegation’s program from beginning to end. Visit http://exchanges.state.gov/ivlp for more information about the IVLP. Minimum 4-month commitment required. 

Other Volunteer Opportunities:

Do you have a background in fundraising?  Can you provide design expertise for our marketing materials? Have you always wanted to start a planned giving program?  Can you meet visitors at the airport or escort them to meetings?  Do you want to come into the office on a regular basis and do whatever is needed that day?  WorldDenver would love to have you!
